Rochelle reading at park

Listed here is an oil painting on canvas done circa 1970.  Robert Philipp spent his summer days in Gloucester where he had summer house. The painting depicts Rochelle reading - sitting down on the bench and the background is a beautiful bay with boats sailing - there is cool breeze and the sky is tinted with late afternoon sun. The palette and composition are reminiscence of classic impressionist Renoir paintings. The overall pictorial tonality is sweet and mellow and show his deep affection to Rochelle - his model, girl friend and a wife.
