Jacques Eitel

(1926-2006)

Jacques Eitel was born in 1926 in Paris. He grew interested in the arts and began to study drawing in 1941, and was subsequently
admitted to L'Ecole Boulle to study sculpturing. In 1945 he entered the prestigious L'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris.
It was the summer after his first semester that he discovered Carnac and Brittany.
He was fascinated by the natural beauty of the region and ever changing soft light that influenced his palette for years to come.

Eitel's work is softly luminous and mysterious. Through his paintings, Eitel creates a world where his inner vision becomes a visual
reality. In the tradition of romantic writers, he glorifies trees, rivers and earth, transcribing his visions with color. His paintings
have soft texture and light.

The awards bestowed upon Jacques Eitel are numerous and prestigious, including the Prix Odilon Lesure Adrian, Prix de
Montmartre the Prix Greenshield Paris, Laureat du Prix Conte- Carriere and Societe des Amateaurs D'Art Montmorency.
He is a member of the Salon d'Automne, des Artistes Francais, des Artistes Independants, de la Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts
and he is mentioned in Benezit.
