Tarzan
Natural and Symbolic Elements
The jungle setting is lush and fantastical:
Animals: A white dove perches beside the man, symbolizing
peace
and purity, while a mischievous monkey peers
from below, injecting humor and vitality into the scene
Vegetation: Oversized, vividly colored tropical plants
surround the figure, heightening the sense of abundance and
exoticism.
Cosmic Scene: The night sky is filled with dreamlike
imagery: ghostly, ethereal figures float among the stars, while
white birds soar across a luminous blue expanse. Mountains
rise in the distance, grounding the dreamlike vision in a real
landscape.
The work combines realism in the figure with magical and
symbolic imagery in the background, a hallmark of Martín’s
style, which bridges classical techniques with Latin American
mysticism.
The composition is framed by a decorative green-and-blue
border of repeating geometric and leaf motifs, giving the
piece a timeless, almost icon-like presentation.
Colors are vibrant and saturated, enhancing the mythical
quality of the painting.
