This is one of the major works by Kyu Nam Han. He deconstructed the imagery with myriads of grid lines and reconstructed harmoniously with energy and noise of Times Square. This was painted in 2008 when the artist was working and living in a studio in the so-called Graffity Building in Long Island City where dozens of struggling
artists were working. The blue tonality of the composition gives a feeling of loneliness with a tint of the nostalgic longing of a struggling artist.
